They check out the greenest building materials and then make those products available to us. Oh, and Portland Trails? Kind of a big deal, as in we're talking 50 miles of rad trails all throughout Greater Portland!
For August, we're bringing the local ruckus with the always amazing Allagash, Sebago, and Peak Organic, as well as Baxter, Maine Mead Works, Rising Tide, and Urban Farm Fermentory. Did we also mention emilie inc will catch your good side with their always amazing photo booth? Seriously, this is gonna be ridiculous!
Heading to Maine Green Building Supply for this months Greendrinks? GO MAINE’s got some green ways for you to get there. Walk, run or bike one of the great new editions to the Portland Trails, the glorious Bayside Trail! Follow it to the end (east) and you are within just minutes of Green Building Supply! And don’t worry, there will be plenty of bike racks at the event. The Metro bus, line #8 will be most convenient, with stops along Marginal Way (all of the stops are very short walks to the event). Looking to carpool? Try GO MAINE’s online, interactive ride board for one-time carpool trips, perfect for a Green Drinks event! Just a reminder, parking for this event will be very limited - biking, walking, running, or wancing (that's a walk and dance combined) - is highly encouraged.

FIGURE DRAWING WITH A LIVE MODEL
Join us for this open, drop in studio session of figure drawing with a live model. This session provides the opportunity to work in a studio environment and interact with other artists as you draw from a live model in your preferred medium. The workshop is open to adults of all skill levels from complete beginners to experienced artists. Bring your own supplies. If you prefer working on an easel, we do have a limited supply available provided on a first come, first served basis. All are welcome. $10 Fee.

“Maine Rebels Attack!” – Civil War Train Robbery Event
The 15th Alabama “Maine Rebels” reenactors will be at the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Company & Museum to recreate a Civil War era train robbery for visitors, Saturday June 16th from 10am-4pm. Union soldiers will act as guards while Confederate troops, in search of treasures, attempt to seize goods on board the train. In addition to the excitement on board the train, the museum will offer Civil War Era activities for children and families. This is the fifth year the popular “Maine Rebels” Train Robbery event returns to the museum for a historical reenactment. With train rides offered on the hour between 10am-3pm, the excitement will take place on each ride during the day. Join us for an exciting event along Portland’s waterfront!

LIFE Portland | Maine Life Events
Maine LIFE Events (LIFE) is weekend of celebration, an opportunity for individuality, and an occasion to give back. Coinciding with Southern Maine Gay Pride, LIFE will kick off with a VIP Reception for the host committee (join here) before a blazing duo of night LIFE events
LIFE Portland will welcome performances by Portland’s first-rate drag queens Shanna Rai and Vanila Honey-Bush accompanied by the Portland LIFE performers. Let loose and dance the night away to music spun by DJ Richie Ladue. LIFE Portland will commence at 8PM and is an 18+ event. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Proceeds of the LIFE events will benefit Frannie Peabody Center (FPC). FPC is an organization dedicated to HIV awareness and prevention while offering outreach, advocacy, and education to those currently infected in our community. Dartmouth Alires comes to town
The Mugadi Foundation Welcomes the Dartmouth Aires
Who needs Glee when you can have some fresh Aires!? The Dartmouth Aires, runners-up from the last season of NBC’s The Sing-Off, are charismatic crooners who harmonize original arrangements of popular tunes from the past and present. And they feature Portland’s own Michael Odokara-Okigbo (who also happens to be the Mugadi Foundation’s founder)!
The Mugadi Foundation is bringing the Dartmouth Aires to the Merrill Auditorium in Portland, Maine, for a performance on Sunday, June 17, 2012…Father’s Day! The concert, which will feature the Boy Singers of Maine, begins at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $22 for adults and $12 for children/students with IDs. They will be available beginning on Monday morning, May 21st through PorTIX at www.porttix.com or (207) 842-0800.
From ballads to hip-hop, and even some original songs, the Dartmouth Aires will win your hearts with their unique talents, inspiring sound, and quirky antics. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, so get yours soon!
Proceeds from the concert go to support the Greater Portland Festival of Nations, the Boy Singers of Maine, and the Mugadi Foundation’s latest project, which will provide educational and living expenses to underprivileged children in Ethiopia.
