Martin Dockery’s The Panic & Passion of Right Now 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Event website

Brooklyn-based Martin Dockery is a theater artist who’s performed in just about every type of venue, from large theaters to intimate trailer homes – and more recently during lockdown, his front porch.

Billed as “the best storyteller in the US” (Orlando Sentinel), Dockery’s comedic, ridiculous, and deeply personal storytelling examines the mysterious connection between love and death. Dockery is funny, sincere, heartbreaking…sometimes all at once.

Before the pandemic reduced him to a large collection of high definition pixels, he’d spent the majority of the year as a three-dimensional, independent touring artist, performing his nine one-person shows and five two-person plays (as Concrete Drops Theater) at festivals and theaters in Canada, Australia, the UK, and the US.

Dockery, a powerhouse on the international festival circuit, has won innumerable “Best of Fest” awards, but is of the opinion that anyone managing to do theater these days is deserving of some kind of award.

Since we were all relegated to our couches during the pandemic, he decided to broadcast a brand new show every five or six weeks about the personal effects of social distancing. Entitled RIGHT NOW, the show was performed on his Facebook homepage. The entire seven-part series and culminating movie is now available online.

With travel and public performance possible once again, Dockery is hitting the road with this live version of the stories he developed during the pandemic.
