Portland Downtown hosts committee meetings that address a wide range of issues. Our committees are open to the public and we encourage you to participate! To sign up for meeting notifications, please click here.
Downtown Business (formerly Merchant) Committee: This committee provides a forum for merchants and other business owners and managers to share ideas, plan holiday events, and develop programs and initiatives to help Downtown’s small business community. Meets bimonthly on the 3rd Wednesday from 8:30am-9:30am. 2021 meeting dates: January 20, March 17, May 19, July 21, September 15, and November 17.
Marketing & Events Committee: This committee plans, develops, and implements Portland Downtown’s major community events including Summer Kickoff Weekend, Light Up Your Holidays, and Downtown Worker Appreciation Day. The committee is also responsible for expanding Portland Downtown’s reach and visibility through a variety of communications channels including: website, email marketing, social media, print & digital advertising, and more. Meets bimonthly on the 4th Thursday from 9:30am-10:30am. 2021 meeting dates: March 25, May 27, July 22, September 23, and November 25.
Downtown Experience (formerly Clean & Safe) Committee: This committee is responsible for overseeing the “Clean & Safe” mission of Portland Downtown. It also works to ensure that the terms agreed upon in the Supplemental Services agreement with the City are fulfilled. Meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday from 1:00pm-2:00pm. 2021 meeting dates: January 14, February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, October 14, November 11, and December 9.
Multimodal Transportation Committee: This committee works on improving the ever-changing parking and transportation landscape in the city, often joining forces with other groups working on similar issues. Meets bimonthly on the 4th Wednesday from 9:00am-10:00am. 2021 meeting dates: January 27, March 24, May 26, July 28, September 22, and November 24.
