The Tony Gaboury Quartet performs with Tony Gaboury, R.J. Miller, Ross Gallagher, and George Garzone.
Guitarist and educator Tony Gaboury has been a creative force and inspiring presence in the Maine jazz community for over three decades. Gaboury’s collaborations with his friend and co-conspirator, the late drummer-composer Steve Grover, provide a brilliant documentation of the vivid history late 20th century jazz in Maine.
Mr. Gaboury will be joined by two of his and Mr. Grover’s most accomplished students, Brunswick native, R.J. Miller on drums, and Ross Gallagher of Blue Hill on bass. On reeds, in a rare Portland appearance, Boston-based and world renowned saxophonist George Garzone. Among Mr. Garzone’s long list of credentials (both as a performer and educator) is his astonishing 40 year tenure as one-third of the legendary free jazz trio “The Fringe”, alongside John Lockwood and Bob Gullotti.
A not to be missed performance by four of New England’s Most Accomplished & Acclaimed native-born jazz artists.
