The Northern Maine Sanatorium was built in 1920 to help sufferers of tuberculosis, a major US health issue at the time. The Sanatorium was hailed as a state-of-the-art facility in Maine when it opened.
Join Kim Smith from the Presque Isle Historical Society to learn more about the people involved, the facility, and how TB patients were treated. Sanatorium artifacts will be displayed for up-close viewing.
