Walk the Working Waterfront is a free-to-attend, community-built, self-guided walking tour created to give visitors unique access to the people and businesses that comprise Portland’s ocean economy. The event will take place on the first Saturday of June each year, from 11-3, and stretches from Becky’s Diner all the way to Casco Bay Lines. Walkers will find dozens of interactive stops and nearly 50 businesses sharing stories about the work they do. Maps can be picked up at businesses along the waterfront starting the week of 5/31, and at the event’s information station located behind the Gulf of Maine Research Institute on Commercial Street starting at 1000 on Saturday, June 4.
