Thanks so much for your interest and for taking the time to fill out our Market vendor form! Portland Downtown in conjunction with Monument Square property owners, and business owners as well as nearby stakeholders are coordinating a 2022 weekly market in an effort to bring additional life to the Square. Please note that not all applicants will be selected to participate.
We can comfortably host 10-14 vendors at each market; BIPOC and LGBTQ vendors, as well as local brick-and-mortar businesses, are especially encouraged to apply. We also shoot for a good variety when possible. While we are looking for local vendors, prepared foods and other offerings that directly compete with Monument Square businesses will not be considered. That said, we hope to host as many of you as we can! All vendors must be Maine-based.
Weekly vendor assignments will be made by Portland Downtown staff in conjunction with the newly formed Friends of Monument Square. Vendors will be notified at least one week prior to the Market.
Staff/volunteers will NOT be on-site to offer assistance, including unloading, set-up, and take-down. We will block off and number spaces and provide a map with site assignments. PD will help publicize the market via our various channels which have a broad reach. We encourage you to tag us on the various social channels to help us cross-promote.
You cannot have your vehicle on the Square during the Market. If selected, we will provide information on loading and unloading times. You can access discounted parking in the nearby Monument Square Garage by contacting Portland Downtown no later than five (5) days prior to the Market.
Vendors must have and use a 10×10 pop-up tent and must secure all four tent legs with tent weights or similar.
The Market runs from apx. 10 am to 3 pm. Vendors must commit to the full market day, or until they sell out of goods.
There is also absolutely no fee to participate.
