“Forgetting Ireland” Book Talk 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Event website

Join the Maine Irish Heritage Center virtually on Sunday, October 17th at 11am, for an exclusive book talk with Bridget Connelly, author of “Forgetting Ireland.” The book combines history and mystery, telling a story of western Ireland’s Connemara and Minnesota’s small town of Graceville. Both Maine and Minnesota were landing spots for the Connemara Irish and “Forgetting Ireland” resonates with our own genealogy projects at the Maine Irish Heritage Center. The “Maine Gaeltacht DNA project” has even revealed connections between the two communities and beyond. Special guests from across the nation and Ireland will join to discuss their own Connemara connections and family history research.
